First, it is made of two parts: the pillow itself is made of cotton fabric and filled with a mixture Flax Seed and fragrant Lavender; also, the pillowcase (made of micro fiber/polyester available in a variety of colors) is separate so that it can be washed. The stitching is top rate and the case even has one of those fancy European closures. The pillow is lightweight and contours nicely to the face. A great buy!
