(More customer reviews)After having back surgery from a ruptured disk that caused me agony, my disk began to bulge again from lifting boxes (which it will often do, due to the fact that a diskectomy weakens the annulus which holds the disk) and my pain began to come back almost as if I'd never had surgery. I was afraid, as I really didn't want to go through everything I went through before, including being bedridden with pain. Oh brother. What to do, what to do... Then I had this product recommended to me by my chiropractor.
I wouldn't say the Back Bubble provides immediate relief, nor I doubt would the manufacturer. If used properly, however, over time it CAN in some cases reverse the condition. The principle is that it provides traction, creating a vacuum between the vertebrae which "sucks" the disk back into place. This requires regular (twice-daily) use for a period of time. This is similar to KDM (kinetic decompression method) that's done on the big machines in doctor's offices. When undergoing KDM, the patient must come into the office 3x/week for 20 weeks or more. This is highly inconvenient to do around work, family, and inclement weather, not to mention the cost incurred. Using the Back Bubble does essentially the same thing, but can be done in the privacy and convenience of the home, on your own schedule. And, of course, is way cheaper.
It does take time to properly fix your back. There are no "instant" solutions unless you count surgery, and you're lucky enough to have a successful one, which many people don't. The good news is, you can get in positions with this thing in which you can read or watch TV, and the sessions can be very short, like ten minutes or so. All in all, I think this is really worth trying for anyone with herniated disk problems. It helped me!
