New Drab Alice Pack Frame with Camo Straps Review

New Drab Alice Pack Frame with Camo Straps

I purchased this for a friend, who ended up buying a whole new pack (with internal frame) - I'm left with an extra frame I won't use. I emailed the seller and no response, though communication was through the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm hoping I can get a refund. I already own an ALICE pack with frame and like it a lot. This frame comes clearly used since it had scrape marks going down the metal frame, but it doesn't impede on what it's supposed to do - be sturdy and light on the back when you're hauling a bag full of gear. This also comes with a plastic "US" canteen and strap (but there's nothing that states the canteen is BPA-free)...in fact, there's no documentation whatsoever - just be aware.
While hiking backpacks have become more "hi-tech" and even more ergonomic, the quality of stitching and the use of plastic zippers tend to dampen the complete enjoyment for hikers like me. I'll probably end up purchasing a waterproof camping backpack in the near future (albeit grudgingly) but these metal frames will last you forever.

Coleman All Outdoors 3-In-1 Blanket Roadtrip (Colors May Vary) Review

Coleman All Outdoors 3-In-1 Blanket Roadtrip (Colors May Vary)

If you are looking for a picnic blanket that wears like iron and can withstand any punishment, you can find them on line (for $100+). But if you are looking for a decent, versatile picnic blanket to keep in your car and put down when you want to have an impromptu stop at the park with the kids, this is what you want. As a "blanket" it would only be marginally functional because I don't think it is all that warm but better than nothing in a pinch. As a poncho, it is a bit awkward but again, functional in an emergency situation. As a picnic blanket it's just right and the size is much larger than most other blankets out there. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is that it is a bit tricky stuffing it back into the built in pouch. I can see the pouch splitting over time if a person is not careful.

Weather lounging at a picnic, watching the big game at the stadium, or car camping, the amazingly versatile Coleman All Outdoors 3-In-1 Blanket will bring you comfort and warmth. This insulated blanket measures 58 by 83 inches, and is made of a waterproof polyester fabric lined with 140-gram polyester fleece for added warmth. It converts to a hooded poncho, and can be stored in the hood to create a cushioned stadium seat. Easily storable, it's also handy to have available in case of emergencies.
