(More customer reviews)This item is described as being "memory foam." My experience with "memory foam" is that it's a fairly tough, semi-rigid foam. This material, by contrast, is very soft, and seems to be equivalent to the foam latex used in some bed pillows (which is NOT "memory foam"). I thought I was buying a more firm support.
By the way, the color of the item I received isn't the nice "neutral gray" you see here. While generally grey, it has an almost "earthy" tone to it... sort of like if you add a little flesh-tone or pink to basic grey. I was hoping for something more along the lines of "dark ghost grey," as it appears in the photograph on Amazon.
Overall... this is a nice addition to a chair that provides "acceptable" lower back support, to make it a bit more comfortable, but it's not going to help you if you need real support, in my opinion.
That said... this was inexpensive and it does help a bit... albeit not as much as I'd hoped for. I'll keep looking for the "ideal" lumbar support, though...
