(More customer reviews)I am a "knife guy" and wanted a good multi-purpose cooking knife that was inexpensive enough that I would not be devastated if it were lost. I found that in the MSR Alpine Kitchen Knife. It cuts well. It is well balanced for such a small knife. It is light-weight and compact. So far, it has held its edge perfectly. I am very impressed with this knife for its cost. The ONLY improvement that I would like to see is a sheath that is more secure when the knife is stowed. I like to keep the knife in my mess kit, but the sheath literally falls off. I am afraid that it will shred my mesh bag. If MSR could figure a way to make the sheath secure, this would be the perfect personal knife for food preparation for me.
